The Zoo---what were we thinking!!!!???

So as summer was winding down and Chris having his last free weekend we decided to go to the zoo as a family of four. We loaded up the car with two strollers, snacks, and off we went. As the morning started off kind of rainy we were hoping that maybe it would be that busy....to pull into the parking lot to see that it was PACKED! It took us a half hour to find a parking spot, but we were determined. Get to the front gate to find out...IT IS FREE DAY AT THE ZOO. EVERYONE AND THEIR ENTIRE EXTENDED FAMILY WAS AT THE ZOO FOR FREE DAY!! What were we thinking, why didn't anyone tell us, how did we not know this??? We definately would have thought twice before going!!!

However we still had a great time, saw a lot of animals. The elephant was Brooklyn's favorite. And she would not touch the animals in the petting zoo. We also saw a baby lion, penguins, bears, giraffe and cheetah. It ended up being a very humid day, and got very tired in the two hours we were there.

But very glad we got to spend the day with dad before he got busy at work!!

One Month

When I asked Jamison how he thought his first month went these were the reactions I got....

So it looks like it was a confusing month for him and he can't make up his mind!!!

The last four weeks-Momma's Turn

Ok, so momma has the computer this time. We have had this blog for over two years and Chris has done a WONDERFUL job of posting, yea?? But I have been thinking about starting my own blog for quite some time, just to house my random thoughts....but instead have decided to add my ramblings to this blog....so get ready!! This is my first post EVER on this blog, I don't need any critics :)

Yes, it has been four weeks since Jamison was born AND since we posted last. So I have some updating to do. I am going to add some updates to the blog before this posting, so work backwards....can't guarantee that they will be in any great order though. Just be patient, I am a work in progress! I mean that to its entirety. But hopefully these updates will get you up to speed on The Nerio's: Family of FOUR!!!!!!!

Proud big sister

A very proud big sister!! Brooklyn LOVES to help. Just mention changing a diaper and she is running to get you a diaper and wipes, and don't even think about taking that job away from her, she loves it! She will also throw the wet ones away, but won't even consider touching the dirty ones!!! She says Jamison pretty well, it is more like Jaaaisom.

She is FULL of questions!!! WHY WHY WHY, it is her favorite word right now!!!

My favorite things that Brooklyn does with her little brother...

1. Calls him her little brother

2. Also uses the names "Little dude", "Little guy", and "hey baby" when talking to him

3. Gets down on the floor to talk to him

4. Pats him and tells him it is going to be ok

5. Gets upset when he doesn't talk to her....

**6**. Kisses him goodnight and says "Love you Jaaisom"

Visitors

I think Brooklyn is just a LITTLE excited in the above picture!!!!

So we had many visitors to welcome Jamison into the world. Thanks to all of you that made it to say Hi, or those that plan to make it here soon. Aunt Julie made it hear on Jamison's Birthday and Grandma and Grandpa from Iowa made it soon after. Also had The Nerio and Kingsley Family here as well. Thanks to all of you....for Everything!!!

One week

Here is Jamison at one week old. Pretty alert with eyes wide open. He has very handsome blue eyes (we will see if they stay this color or not).

Jamison's Name

I have had many people ask me about Jamison's name..
Jamison Kingsley Nerio...
and if it has meaning.

Jamison was a name that both Chris and I liked from the beginning. We wanted a name that was somewhat different (not used a lot) but not too different (can't say or spell). This seemed like a perfect fit! We hope to keep it Jamison, not Jamie or James. So if you meet this little guy, Jamison it is.

Kingsley is Chris maternal grandparents last name. Robert and Catharine Kinsley. Chris grandparents have been a very big part of his life and remain to be in our families life as well. They have done tremendous things for him and Chris had a lot of his grandpa's characteristics, including a love for ice cream and strawberries!

So there you have it. Jamison Kingsley Nerio. I sometime look at him and think...did we pick the right name for you, and I always answer yes. It is a strong name, somewhat unique, yet very friendly sounding I think. Hopefully just like him!!!
