Party Time!
A lot of pictures this time to show Jamison's First Birthday Party! As you can see from the previous post we stuck with a Red, White, and Blue theme since we were having his party over the fourth of July weekend.
So here are a couple of pictures to see how the mood was set. :)
Brooklyn helped with the cupcakes to make sure each one had the right sprinkles on it!
Then time for cake again! This picture isn't very clear, but I love Jamison's eyes! He looks so mesmerized by the cake and candle!

And boy did he make a mess!!

Cake two days in a row.... OH BROTHER Jamison says!
Then after a quick clean up this little boy looks pretty happy! But then again Papa Vince can always put a smile on this little guys face!
Cousin Katherine enjoying the party!

Present time again! This was one of the trucks that Brooklyn picked out for Jamison! She did a great job picking out his gifts, every one that she picked out seemed to be his favorite!
And she picked out a Big Truck for him. And boy did he try to help daddy get it out of the box!!

And then he danced when they finally got it out! He has got some pretty mean moves anytime he hears any sort of music!!

The real party!
Cowgirl to diva--all in a days work!
Saturday morning this was Brooklyn's choice of wardrobe as we lounged around the house! Her Yellow Cheerio t-shirt, pajama shorts, and her boots! She was a COWGIRL!
By Saturday afternoon she had changed into a skirt, got her pretty pink purse, flip flops, and even had some earrings on for Jamison's Birthday Party!

A couple birthday video's
Brooklyn getting the festivities off to a good start....
Jamison enjoying his new truck...be sure to listen for his sound effects!
Happy 1st Birthday Jamison!!
Jamison turns one today! Unfortunately he had to go to school/daycare all day. But Mommy and Daddy picked him up early and brought him home for a little birthday celebration. He came in the door and went straight to the present pile--smart boy!!

Overall we had a great first birthday celebration for our little guy! And this was the celebration before the celebration! We can't wait for more birthday fun!!
Then he spotted his cake. And don't turn your back on this little guy....
Becuase now that he is one, he thinks he can climb up on the stool! This is how we turned around to find him!! YIKES!!

Then a little birthday hat party with Brooklyn singing and dancing!
Then dinner, and FINALLy time for cake! This face says it all!!

In the picture below I think Jamison totally looks like a Schnepel boy! Looking at his eyes/eyebrows I think he looks like Grandpa Iowa and his Uncle Jonny! (Scary I know)
Then it was time to dig in!
Not only does it look like he is enjoying his cake, but it also looks like he is showing us he is ONE!
Now, time to see what is in this bag....PRESENT TIME!!
A TRUCK! VVVVRRROOOOMMMM!!! He even started making little vvvvrrrrr sounds!! It was too cute!
Then outside for our first time in the sand box that daddy just got finished!! Both him and Brooklyn really had a good time! And we had a good time watching them!

Now he is on the move more than ever!
These videos are just a little proof that the little guy is doing better than ever! Although he doesn't have much desire to venture out on his own yet, he will chase you down and run you over!!
I am sure it will be no time before we are having to chase him down!!

Jamison's Big Day
Friday was Jamisons big day of surgery. We had to be at the hospital at 6:15am. That really isn't that bad, except we usually get up around 5:30 and Jamison must have his morning cup of Milk! And of course he could not have anything to eat or drink. Brooklyn spent the night with Grandma Mary and Papa Vince so that she wouldn't have to be involved in the early morning chaos!
We made it to the hospital, got all checked in, and sported a cute gown which Jamison was not a fan of. The nurses came in and did all they needed to do and we met with the Dr. to go over the procedure again. About that time Jamison remembered that he was hungry, and he was getting tired, so we got the cranky J-man for a few minutes. But when the nurses came to get him, he went off like a champ, with binky and blanket in hand, but no tears. That made it much easier on Mommy (and Daddy!). So luckily there were no tears on their part either :).
About a half hour later the Dr. came out and said everything went great. Tubes in both ears, and adenoids (which ended up being infected) out. And about ten minutes later we called back to see the little man. And unfortunately not a very happy little man. He was having some sugar water which he was gulping down fastly, and wanted more!! badly!! So between being hungry, tired, probalby nauseated, maybe a headache and some pain, our little guy who is normally happy was NOT HAVING IT AT ALL! We went through about 15-20 minutes of a little boy who would not calm down. Both Chris and I tried everything, but finally the nurse had to give him something to calm him down and to help him with the pain. Finally he calmed down, and we were shortly off to a room to be monitored until it was time to go home.
Jamison finally took a couple of cat-naps even though we could tell he wasn't real comfortable.
Here are a few pics of him just before we went home....he looks like a pretty tough guy if you ask me!!

We made it home at 9:47 Am, yes an exact time, the exact time I bet Chris we would be home!! It was then time for some cuddle/nap time with Mommy. And two three-hour naps later he was a brand new man and feeling good! He ate dinner good Friday night, and was his normal silly self on Saturday.
Sunday he was his normal silly self times two!! He was babbling away more than ever!! Here are Brooklyn and Jamison enjoying breakfast Sunday morning in the living room on the picnic table!

I don't have a picture, but shortly after this Jamison was climbing on top of the table, so we assumed he was feeling A-OK!

Overall we had a great outcome!! No fever, no problems, and we have a little boy who seems happier already! What a relief!! So glad our little guy is so tough and that we had so many prayers coming his way!!

Back to reality-what a week!
Well as much as I would like to go on about our vacation we were hit with reality the minute we pulled in our driveway. Literally-we came home to a wet driveway from some sort of water leak underground. And of course, it was from our pipes, not the cities! So, Monday we had two different plumbers come out, and found one that could fix it on Tuesday. Luckily it wasn't a terrible leak, so hopefully our water bill won't be too outrageous! Tuesday two guys came out and fixed our plumbing problems. Luckily they were able to do all of the work without having to tear up our driveway! Whew!!
Wednesday we took Jamison to the ear nose and throat Dr. We did a hearing test which they estimated he had a 40% hearing loss (not permanent), and the dr quickly concluded that he would really benefit from having tubes in his ears, as well as his adenoids out. I am thinking-ok, my baby needs surgery-but it will be fine-- THEN he says-do you want to do it on Friday. Hello-that is in two days-but yes, we will do it on Friday! Might as well get it over with, and if he needs it, then we need to do it!
Thursday it was Mom's turn to go to the Dr. Everything looks good as far as baby Nerio goes-and on target for a July delivery sometime. I go back to the Dr. weekly now, so hopefully we will see some progress!
Friday was Jamison's big day. I think I will save this for a post of its own.
Overall-this was quite a week! All in all-as stepped on as I felt all week, everything could have been a lot worse!! We got off quite lucky if you think about it! And so I am thankful for that!!
