Jamison's first set of tubes had recently fallen out, and to our surprise the doctor thought that he needed them in again. He had some thick fluid hanging out in there and we wanted to make sure that his hearing wasn't being affected.
We had to be at the hospital at 6:30 in the morning which was fine with us! We didn't want to have to dodge his morning milk that he requests daily as soon as he wakes up for very long! We had warned him the night before, and he understood there would be no milk, but it worked great to wake up and head out the door! A little after our arrival they gave him some goofy juice to make him sleepy and not nervous. This boy got hilarious!!! Almost like he was drunk!! He was making faces, and would go from sleepy to hilarious in .5! He was so brave and polite, all the nurses complemented on what a good boy he was! We were so proud! The nurse came to get him and wheeled him off in the bed, and he was grinning ear to ear!
The procedure was very short and doctor came out to talk with us about twenty minutes later. He said he did great!!! We were able to go back to recovery a few minutes later. He was already waking up and just very sleepy! Still not a single whine or tear!! We were then able to head to a room to wait to be discharged. That is where things went downhill. I think he was either nauseous from the anesthesia or maybe from having the fluid removed an his ears might have made him feel off balance. Either way, it got to him, and he in turn got daddy (threw up on him). We were still able to be discharged, but the sickness didn't stop. A few more times getting sick, including in the car on the way home, a few naps later, and he still wasn't able to keep a sip of water or any Tylenol down. We gave him a little bit of anti nausea medicine around 4:00, and he finally turned the corner! After that he was able to drink, keep down some apple sauce, and by the time dinner rolled around he was back to his normal self!
Although it was a long day for him, he did GREAT!!!! So proud of how brave he was and how big he was!!!
