Christmas

We were all looking forward to Christmas break this year!  We would have two full weeks with no school, and no traveling, and pretty much no work (minus one or two half days for daddy).  Aunt Julie came to town for the full week of Christmas, so we knew it would be a fun week!

Christmas Eve we went to church in the afternoon for the kids service, then when we came home Aunt Julie had a fun game waiting for us!  Minute to Win It!  We all tackled about 10 different obstacles, we all had a lot of fun!  Thanks Jules!  Then for dinner we ate by candlelight with fancy drinks!  The kids thought that was fun!

It was fun decorating the house this year, finding new places for things, adding another tree, and making everything festive!

This was the sports tree that we did in the playroom this year!  Fun!

Our main tree in the living room after Santa delivered his presents, and boy did he leave a lot!!!!

Christmas morning did not disappoint.  Mom wasn't feeling too great so that was really the only bummer!  But she was at least feeling good enough to be able to watch them open presents!!!

There were so many great things!!!  Rockets, barbies, make up, clothes, shoes, play doh, head bands, toy instruments, and the list goes on!  I think everyone got what they wanted plus another 15 presents or so each!  Santa just cant resist over doing himself, as the looks on their faces as they open each gift is priceless!  The kids and daddy went over to Papa Vince and Grandma Marys for lunch, mom still wasn't feeling too great so she had to miss out :(

We did have dinner that evening to celebrate Chris' birthday!  Happy 36 daddy-o!

It was such a great day, I could toot my own horn!  :)  Looks like someone else already beat me to it!

We ended the week with Julie taking us all to the movie Frozen (mom, J and R spend some time in the lobby as they were a little scared of the movie theatre!), and we also got to see Gretchen and Mere one evening for dinner as well!   Great week!

What a very Merry Christmas we had, and hopefully a Happy Birthday for Daddy as well!

Merry Christmas!

The highlights of 2013 for the Nerios

Brooklyn started first grade and is reading, reading, reading, and also loves math!  She is doing awesome in school, we are so proud of her!  She is riding her bike without training wheels, and has enjoyed her first few sleepovers with friends, losing lots of teeth, and is in girl scouts!

Jamison started Pre-K and is doing a great job also!  He has learned so much and is doing a great job writing his letters!  (Although I can tell the next 12 years aren’t going to be easy getting him to school each day!)  He still loves football, going to work with his dad, and his little stuffed puppy that he is attached to!  He is becoming a handsome young man!

Raegan is our one of a kind crazy girl!  She is smart, sassy, and keeps up with her brother and sister!  She is our techno girl, and loves playing on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod!  Do I see an Apple CEO in our future??  She still has that adorable dimple, and loves to sing to songs on the radio!    She is growing up too fast!

One of the biggest highlights of 2013 was that we moved!  We love our new house, which is less than a mile away from our old one, but twice as much space!  Kids go to the same school, and they love having all the room to run around, inside and out!  We live on a cul-de-sac and the kids love riding their bikes outside and playing with friends in the neighborhood!  Truly blessed!

After 6 years of having our kids at daycare, we started having an in home nanny in August!  We love Ms. Kandle, and it has worked out great having her at home loving our kids each day, being their chauffer, and helping them learn and grow!  Plus we have a ton of great art all around our house thanks to her great projects!

We made a trip to Iowa this summer and included a trip to LEGOLAND in Kansas City on the way!  We enjoyed a trip to the farm, picking cherries, going to the zoo, and seeing family.

No—we didn’t get a dog as the picture may look.  But we did get a chance to have our picture taken with Goldie—the TU ambassador.   She is a new addition to the TU family, and we love seeing her, as well as going to TU events!

Looking back, it was a great year!  So much to be thankful for, including each of you!   We are so thankful for our friends and family near and far, and hope to be seeing each of you soon!

Cheers to looking back at 2013, and looking forward to 2014!

Grandpa Iowa

Grandpa Iowa isn't coming down to visit until January, but don't let that fool you into thinking we didn't get any packages from him!

One--we got decorated Christmas cookies that him and Carol made!
YUM!

And we also got these Three HUGE boxes that we had to look at until just the right time to open them!

Finally mom let us open them.....   Looks like they like them!  HA!!!

Three blue bean bag chairs, just the right size!!!!

Thanks Grandpa Iowa--they are just right!

We invited Kandle, Chris, and Catie over for dinner one night and so that we could have a special little Christmas evening with them!  And boy was it fun!  Let's just say our kids continue to be blessed, and so do we!!

Kandle has been a blessing to our family, and we are so lucky to have her be a part of us!
