Jamison's Turn!

Yes, finally an update on our Little Monkey. Or Smiley Guy as I call him these days! In the last week to week and a half Jamison has really started to talk more, smile, and even a little giggle here and there! He is a very happy baby overall, just like Brooklyn was! If he is tired or hungry, HE WILL LET YOU KNOW!! Otherwise, he is content to look around! He is going to be a people watcher!!!

Update-Potty Training

We have never said much about how Brooklyn did at potty training, so thought I would update you. Brooklyn has been potty trained for a little over three months now! That's right, potty trained just after turning two! She caught on very quickly, and I would say overall she had less than 15-20 accidents total!!! She has had a couple of days here and there that she gets side-tracked. But I would say overall she did GREAT!! Oh, did I mention two of the accidents happened while she was on Chris' lap! One at home, and one in the hospital after we had Jamison (good thing we lived close to the hospital so Chris could come home and change!). She loves making us "PROUD" of her, so she was very receptive to the idea of how proud we were if she was accident free....oh, and did I mention the treats she got too? She really didn't have any setbacks after Jamison was born, so that was a relief. She still doesn't have the night time thing down, and it will probably be some time before she does, but we are VERY PROUD OF HER!!!! One down, one to go! Too bad they say boys are harder than girls!!

Misheard Lyrics.....

Brooklyn has a couple of funny "misheard lyrics". Truly she just hasn't quite learned how to say the words correctly. She REALLY thinks she is saying them correctly, and if you say it how she says it, she corrects you by saying it louder and slower, although it still sounds wrong. Thought I would share a couple with you. Some of these she has already outgrown and is saying correctly now, but they were fun while they lasted!!!

Gookalyn=Brooklyn
Cloth cloth=washcloth...say cloth cloth out loud...it just sounds funny!
Hokey pokey=Polk a dots

Overall she has a FANTASTIC vocabulary!!! She speaks in full sentences, sings many many songs (in tune even), and easily learns new words! The other day I taught her what starving meant. The next night she asked me before dinner time. "You starving Momma?" She is just a little sponge!!!

Special Guest--Aunt Julie

Aunt Julie came to see us last weekend!!!! YEA!!! She was quite entertained I think! Brooklyn asked her WHY? so many times that by the end of the weekend Julie started to refuse to answer!! Jamison only spit up on her once, and NO, she did not change any diapers... But we had a great weekend of doing NOTHING...and it was so nice to have an adult conversation with someone face to face while Chris is out of town! COME BACK SOON AUNT JULIE!!!!

MTV, here we come!

Brooklyn loves to sing as well as dance, play puzzles, cook in her kitchen, write...I guess she is a typical kid. But she sings many different songs. We sing at home, in the car, at school, at sunday school, everywhere. So she knows many different songs. Some I don't know how they go. But this one is a favorite, and I am sure you will all recognize it.

Is today Church Day?

Brooklyn LOVES going to church! She asks all the time if it is church day! She usually goes to "Sunday School". This is actually just basically daycare while Chris and I go to church. But they do sing songs and sometimes have a little lesson. She loves it though! "DEEP and WIDE" is one of the songs she has picked up at church....here is a little preview.

WHY

That word has been WAY overused at our house lately....we are in THAT stage of WHY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING, WHY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY..... Needless to say it is quite trying at times!!!! Don't ask my why!!

Funny sayings, By Brooklyn

Well we have heard MANY funny things come out of Brooklyn's mouth. It is amazing what that girl picks up!!! I thought I would give you all of few of our favs....

3. Oh my shoot... (she now says Oh my Gosh to about everything that happens!)

2. We have to hold our wee wee down when we go pee pee (Obviously overheard at daycare during potty training....this was followed by a mini sex ed course with my two year old daughter on who has wee wee's and who doesn't)

Can I feed Jamison??

Well mom opened the gate....she let Brooklyn feed Jamison one time, and is now constantly asked if it can be done time and time again! She is such a great big sister! She always is saying the sweetest things to him:

"Hey Buddy" "How are you little guy" "You hungry guy?" "It's ok little buddy" "Hey little dude"

Pretty much anything she has every heard Chris or I say to him, she repeats! It is pretty cute! But she does get to feed him every once in awhile and does a good job! Now, if she could just change diapers!!!

Visitors

It is always nice to have visitors! And boy can Brooklyn entertain them! We were lucky enough to have Aun Ru and Great Grandma Kingsley (Jamison's middle name) come visit us last Sunday afternoon. They both got to hold Jamison, and got to see Brooklyn in ACTION! And I mean, ACTION, she bounced around the entire time they were here!
